Thank you Sacramento studios, teachers and students: Sacramento’s 1st Annual Free Day of Yoga was a huge success!
All day long, on Labor Day (Monday, September 3rd, 2012) participating studios throughout the Sacramento region offered free classes as an opportunity for people of every age and fitness level to try yoga for the first time, experience a new style of yoga, visit a new studio or take class from a new instructor, or share yoga with friends and family.
Sixteen studios held over 30 classes and hosted 1000 students.
We are already at work planning next year’s event with more studios, classes, prizes, and freebies — a total yogapalooza. Check back in the spring for how you can be involved and participate in 2013!

A Bit of History:
Created in 1999 in Austin, Texas, Free Day of Yoga has blossomed into an event with thousands of participants each year. Since then FDOY spread across Texas to Houston, Dallas/Fort Worth, Victoria, and Nederland, to Beckley, W. Virginia, Los Angeles, California, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and even as far as Guam! Dedicated to providing the gift of yoga to the community, FDOY, breaks down barriers and provides a unique opportunity for yoga students and would-be yoga students to explore local studios and different styles. For the first time, FDOY will make its debut in Sacramento, California!
